Karma Gripper Strip is designed for use with soundproof matting such as the Karma Soundlay and Acoustilay range. The product is fixed around the perimeter of a room where soundproof matting and carpet is going to be laid. Soundproof matting is then laid within that perimeter and then carpet can be laid on top, fixing gripper rods to the Karma Gripper Strip. This avoids reducing acoustic performance by nailing gripper rods into the mats themselves, or fixing the gripper rods direct to the subfloor without any acoustic materials.
The primary reason for using Karma Gripper Strip is to gain maximum performance from laying soundproof matting with carpet. When laying carpet alongside products such as Karma Soundlay, Soundlay Plus and Acoustilay mats, performance is significantly reduced without the use of this product.
