Karma Visco 21 overlay boards are high-performance acoustic floor panels which provide exceptional acoustic performance. They are particularly suited towards renovation projects which already have an existing subfloor or floor joists in place, with requirements for acoustic performance and additional floor height.
Karma Visco 21 overlay boards are comprised of 4 individual elements: MR MDF, Visco elastic strips, fibreboard and chipfoam. Each element plays a key role in its high acoustic performance, for example the elastic strips dampen the sound vibrations before they reach the building, reducing any airborne noise.
When testing Visco 21 in a complete flooring system including 22mm chipboard deck, 225mm solid wood joists and resilient bars, it has been deemed fit to satisfy requirements of Approved Document E.
Visco 21 is an extremely versatile product in terms of floor finishes for example the floor panels can be used in conjunction with carpet, tiling or wooden floors, however there are some floors that require more attention that other for example when applying vinyl to the acoustic floor panels the panels should be overlaid with 6mm plywood or hardboard to prevent mirroring of the joists.
