Impact Noise Reduction

Impact noise is the product of physical impact upon a surface, such as somebody walking around in the room above you or moving furniture. The result of this impact is that the surrounding structures including walls and floors begin to vibrate, creating sound waves.

You can effectively reduce impact noise by utilising layers of soundproofing. Applying a compound of sound absorbing material between two fixed materials will prevent these vibrations from travelling through the structure of your home or building.

The best impact sound reduction solutions are made of rubber, foam or fibreglass because these materials are excellent at absorbing the energy produced by impact, which minimises how far the sound waves will travel.

AT FWDirect we offer a range of solutions to reduce impact noise. We also know that it can be difficult to understand which products are right for your application – if you are unsure, have any questions or would like advice, please contact our customer service team.
