Product information
Jumpax Basic is a dry alternative to a levelling screed. It's a two-layer system of MDF boards bonded by a built-in interactive adhesive: you lay the base boards, peel back the film and press the top boards down on top, staggering the joints. The result is a flat, stable 7mm overlay ready for your floor, with no screed to dry.
It's light and quick to handle, and it works over underfloor heating, with a low thermal resistance of 0.7 tog. You can glue a dryback LVT straight onto it or float a click floor over it. Installed over QA TechniBoard underlay it gives 21dB of impact sound reduction (19dB over QuickTherm Vapour underlay). Luvanto approves it for its floors, and the Craftsman fitting guide suggests it as the quickest way to level an uneven subfloor.
Key facts
- Boards 600 x 1200mm, 7mm overall thickness
- 2.88m² per pack
- Thermal resistance 0.04m²K/W (0.7 tog)

Lay the base boards adhesive side up with the film left on, leaving an 8 to 10mm gap at the walls and around pipes, and staggering the rows.
Before you start
- Lay the top boards adhesive side down in the same direction, peeling back only as much film as each board needs, keep the joints tight and tap down with a rubber mallet.
- Fit each room separately with a 16mm gap at doorways.
- Glue a dryback floor on within 48 hours, or float a click floor over it.
- Over underfloor heating, use QuickTherm Vapour underlay underneath and test the heating before the final floor goes down.
- Delivered on a pallet Flooring is heavy, so it comes palletised to the kerbside. You’ll need to move it from the roadside into the property.
- We confirm the day Deliveries run Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. We’ll confirm your date once the order is processed. We can’t offer timed slots.
- Check before you sign Someone needs to be in to sign for it. Look over the packs first and tell us within 24 hours if anything is damaged.
- Book your fitter afterwards Wait until your flooring has arrived before booking a fitter. We can’t cover fitter costs if a delivery is held up.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an underlay under Jumpax?
QA lists FineFloor TechniBoard and QuickTherm Vapour underlay for use under Jumpax; QuickTherm is the one to use over underfloor heating. Over TechniBoard, Jumpax gives 21dB of sound reduction.
How much do I need?
Each pack covers 2.88m². Measure the room, add around 10% for cuts and divide by 2.88, rounding up.
Can I glue LVT straight onto it?
Yes. You can glue a dryback floor such as Luvanto Design onto the boards, ideally within 48 hours of laying them, or float a click floor over the top.
Is it suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes. Its thermal resistance is low at 0.7 tog, so heat passes through well. Test the heating system after laying Jumpax and before fitting the final floor.
